Staycation. Staycation Staycation. It’s an opportunity to take some time out and explore your own county, even if you only have a spare evening. And it still surprises me that after a twenty minute car journey from Northampton (a mere skip across the M1 to the west of the county), you can have yourself a proper local adventure. Door to door and back in 24 hours, we’ve met some inspiringly talented people and bone fide entrepreneurs.Read more
I’d never heard of Katherine Daniels, but back in October I had an invite to an event in Corby for this relatively new skincare brand. For one reason or another, I didn’t get to the event, but the super nice ladies at the PR company asked me if I wanted to go for a facial at their head office instead. It was in Bedford, and I was thinking, hmmmm, can I afford the time for an hour and a half round trip, but after looking on the website and seeing the uber stylish products, I decreed, yes; yes I jolly well could make the effort (I think Muddy Cambridge is a fan too).Read more

I have a weakness. Not a weakness like Superman and Kryptonyte, but a weakness that has, over the years, made a severe dent in my bank balance…scented candles!Read more

I’d heard of 15 Collingwood in Abington because they were a finalist in the Muddy Stilettos Awards and did extremely well against the eventual winner (the much bigger outfit that is Bells Interiors). But how did this bijoux, retro store become so established on the Northamptonshire interiors landscape? Well Muddy thinks it has the answer; and it’s very much to do with the flamboyantly named, Rocco Cat (huge name envy right now)! The super stylish 15 Collingwood was set up in by Rocco and his brother Franco Catalano (see, do you see where they got the cat, prrrrr) in 2013.Read more
I love it when we find a great local retailer with pricing that makes our eyes open in pleasant surprise, as opposed to water in disbelief! And I love it even more when they find Muddy, which is what happened with Mooch, a new Northants based, online store selling glorious gifts and greetings cards at VERY reasonable prices.
Rachel Roberts, owner of Mooch (who also has a very busy ‘proper’ job), recently launched Mooch because she simply loves shopping (*doffs cap to Rachel who can now spend under the guise of it being work and wonders why we hadn’t thought of that ; )
One of Rachel’s biggest passions is shiny things, so jewellery plays a big part in the range.Read more
Do you love decorating your home for Christmas? Bringing the boxes down from the attic that were carefully and lovingly packed away the year before (or thrown in hastily, ahem, guilty as charged)! It’s always exciting to see the decs again, your favourite bauble, all those happy memories (like the year you set fire to the teatowel because you’d imbibed too much breakfast Champers, er just me..?). It’s all well and good keeping the decs year after year, but it can get a bit tired, decorating your house the same way every year…which is where Pamela Gearing who owns Texture Interiors steps in.Read more
