Didn’t quite make it to skiing this half term? Nope, me neither! But who cares, for we have delights aplenty in Blighty and not just out on our doorstep. Here are some great options if you fancy a day trip out.
Half term week for schools in Warwickshire is 20 – 24 Feb fact fans, so this week is a grand tim for Bucks/Oxon families to head up to Warwick Castle during its relatively quieter week.
Wakey Wakey!! It’s 2017 and we’re already picking up the pace here in Muddy Northants. This week there are some great events in the offing and lots of brilliant places to visit in our county. It’s a big year for Muddy Stilettos too as we’ll be one year old in February and we’ve just been nominated for Best UK Blog – Arts and Culture. Yep – we know what we’re on about – see what’s on this week…

A magical evening of Carols by Candlelight is being held in Northampton to raise vital funds for Alzheimer’s Society. Stay focused people. The Christmas klaxon may be sounding but not everything has tinsel attached – although a lot does – we can do both, hurrah.

Nostalgia 80s revival, The Hind Hotel, Friday 12 Aug
Alright, so we may not have looked like the supers in the ’80s, but you can go all out on your togs for this event!
So far this summer holiday I have survived a few play-dates (although I am under instruction never to call them that for 11-year-old girls), a week in a yurt in rainy Tenby, plus a mammoth clothes washing session that nearly resulted in Mr Muddy’s breakdown (he overseas laundry in our household – I know, I don’t know how lucky I am! Anyhoo, with the help of my lovely intern number one, Daisy Ward, we’ve managed to put together a few more exciting things for your diary.
Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie, Errol Flynn Filmhouse, Fri 29 Jul
Appropriate for their big screen debut, Edina Monsoon and Patsy Stone are still oozing glitz and glamour, living the high life they are accustomed to; shopping, drinking and clubbing their way around London’s trendiest hotspots (ahhh I remember the halcyon days). But when they accidentally push Kate Moss into the river Thames at an uber fashionable launch party, Eddy and Patsy become entangled in a media storm surrounding the supermodel’s untimely demise and are relentlessly pursued by the paparazzi.
I’m a dedicated Glastonbury lover from the *ahem* comfort of my sofa – I had an awesome front row of Chris Martin for starters, and let me tell you, the toilet facilities are way better. But whether you’re a namby-pamby glamper like me or a hardcore roll-in-mud and wet-wipes-at-dawn music-fan, here’s the Muddy Guide to the best festivals due to amp-it-up over the next few months. Make some noise! Give it up!
