Cinderella takes over The Castle Theatre

Polish those glass slippers and find your best ballgown, you've been invited to the ball!

December has arrived, Christmas is everywhere and that means it’s panto time! The Mudlets have always gone to The Castle Theatre, Wellingborough, with their school, so it’s a bit of a tradition really, except this year there’s no school trip as they’re getting on a bit (the kids, not the school), so I’m taking them.  (FEATURE UPDATE, we’ve been, and it was hilarious. It didn’t take itself too seriously and had all the elements of a successful panto – particularly making the audience feel very special – which is a truly wonderful skill, we applaud everyone involved)! Cinders is one of the world’s best-known and most loved fairy tales and it always brings a touch of magic, mayhem and make-believe to Christmas celebrations.

So it’s time to polish those glass slippers, dust off that pumpkin and get ready for the ball as Cinderella will be turning the theatre into her sparkling palace throughout the whole of Xmas! Joining her will be the handsome Prince Charming, the wicked Ugly Sisters, the magical Fairy Godmother and of course her trusted sidekick, Buttons. They’re all ready for you to join in with their adventure, full of sing-along-songs and magic that’ll transport you into the fairytale world.

This classic rags-to-riches tale is from the same team behind The Wizard of Oz and Beauty and the Beast. Castle Theatre and Enchanted Entertainment have created a guaranteed hit for all the family, including everything you expect from a pantomime and more. The spectacular sets and lavish costumes are guaranteed to wow and will light up the Mudlet’s eyes (true Christmas magic right there!). Just when you thought you couldn’t ask for more, there’s a double dose of Dames in the production as the Ugly Sisters are played by the wonderful Chris Ponka and Paul Tate, who also doubles as the director (value for money and all that). Double the Dame can only mean double the laughs right?!

With the line up led by Gary Johnson as Dandini and X Factor’s Christopher Maloney as Prince Charming, we can’t wait to hear them belt out popular tunes and bring a smile to everyone’s face, it’s definitely not one to miss!

The performances start on Friday 14 December and run until Saturday 29 December, with tickets priced between £12 and £23. An autism friendly performance will be shown on Wed 19 Dec at 6pm.

Tickets can be purchased online or by calling the box office on 01933 270 007.
