23 brilliant Halloween events

Get ready for the fright of your life when you see how busy you'll be this October with these ghastly Halloween shenanigans. Be prepared for the best one yet.


October Half Term at Wicksteed Park:

So much scary stuff is going on at Wicksteed Park this half term to keep your little ones busy and on their toes. From their Wicky’s Little Monster Ball full of dancing, entertainment and games to their latest addition of the Haunted House, will you make it out alive? They also have a pumpkin hunt going on all half term, so lots to do.

Halloween at Delapre Abbey:  

Delapre Abbey are hosting a family friendly Halloween outdoor trail in the gardens, where fearsome creatures and ghostly ghouls from the Abbey’s past are waiting. After, you can finally relax at the Halloween Party with refreshments, entertainment and games.

Halloween Half Term at Billing Aquadrome: 

Whatever day you visit Billing Aquadrome over the half term, expect lots of scarily good stuff to do and lots of family entertainment. There will be spooky games, pumpkin carving, trick or treating and of course fancy dress. Parking is £5 and you can check out the weeks schedule right here to see what’s happening when.

Pumpkin Picking at Farndon Fields: 

Ditch the supermarket pumpkins and grab your own at Farndon Fields. Under 3’s go free and everyone else is only a fiver so spend a day out in the open as you pick your pumpkins to take home and carve out. The event will be held on their working farm so also expect mud, tractors and a whole lot of pumpkins to choose from.

Stanwick Lakes Halloween Half Term:

The lovely Stanwick Lakes are keeping all the family busy this half term with a jam-packed week of Halloween activities, including Creepy Trail, Halloween crafts, spooky scarecrow lantern walk, face painting plus some visits from some birds of prey and creepy reptiles. Pick Your Own Pumpkin at Grange Farm: 

The family can all enjoy picking their own pumpkins at the family farm just outside Moulton, but as it’s a working farm also expect to see animals, tractors and all that stuff. Get out your best boots or wellys and dig in. There is free parking and free entry and you can find out what more to expect here.

Halloweens Spooktacular at Mill House Tea Rooms and Gardens: 

It’s not just about the ghosts and the ghouls over Halloween, it’s also about some great tasting grub and you can find just that at Mill House Tea Rooms as they will be serving up hot dogs, apple bobbing, spooky cupcake decorating. They also have on a scariest costume competition, (parents included) and a pumpkin trail. There will also be homemade soup and freshly baked rolls to buy to keep you warm and free cup of hot mulled wine for the grown ups and all happening Thursday 31st October and you can find out more here.

Haunted Halloween at Abington Park Museum: 

What a perfect place to spend your Halloween, at the historic Abington Park Museum. They will be opening their doors on Saturday 26th October for their Halloween day of fun with activities, crafts and a trail around the museum. There will also be refreshments being served including their witches brew and fancy dress is highly recommended. Check it all out here.

Halloween Pumpkin Hunt at Beckets Park: 

Grab a form from Buddies of Beckets by the Pavilion and go hunting for the pumpkins that are dotted around Beckets Park. If you find all 10 you get a prize. It’s £3 entry and takes place on Thursdsay 31st October. There event page is here.

Halloween Party at Riverside Hub: 

Held on three dates in October, treat your little monsters to the Halloween Party Night at the Hub, Northampton. Your little monsters will be having a scarily good time with ghostly treasure hunts, a Halloween disco and fancy dress competition, spooky tattoos and glitter art, Halloween candy floss or popcorn to enjoy and a special pottery painting workshop held by the witches. They also can enjoy the great facilities at The Hub that will all be kitted out and decorated.

Pumpkin Hunt with Muddy Education: 

Held over three dates this October is the pumpkin hunt hosted by Muddy Education, a great fun outdoor activity to get your little ones out in nature and discover the pumpkins around the woods and surrounding areas. Tick them off your spotter sheet and see if you can find all the different designs. After, there will also be games, hunts and spooky crafts and a campfire to enjoy a toffee apple by.

Pumpkin Patch and Carving at Mini Meadow Farm: 

Spend a day out at Mini Meadow Farm where you can use their wheelbarrows to pick your pumpkin from their patch then take it over to the carving station to create something spooky and wild. The animals will also be waiting to say hello, so expect to see rabbits, guinea pigs, chipmunks and llamas. There is also a indoor play area and sand pit plus picnic area, cafe and outdoor play area.

Boost Halloween Spooktakular: 

Jump around this Halloween in your best fancy dress at Boost Trampoline Park. Expect lots of fun and mischeif as the ghosts and ghouls will be coming to play. The 2 hour session will have not only  lots of trampolines but also spooky games and all for only £15pp so book your space now.

The Snow Queen at The Deco:

Mixing up Halloween and Christmas is a production of The Snow Queen performed at The Deco, Northampton. The production stars girl band B* Witched. ,Edele Lynch who will be starring as The Snow Queen in this magical performance on Wednesday 30th October.

Halloween White Water Rafting at Nene Active:

Take to the water if you dare this Halloween for Nene Active’s Halloween themed white water rafting. A fun experience like no other suitable for 12 years plus. For £40 you get a 2 hour experience in the water including a hot drink to warm you up after. You can wear a costume to add to the scare factor. Halloween Flash Tattoos:

Now if you’re undecided whether or not to get a tattoo or can’t decide on what to get, then let the guys at Fat Fugu pick one for you as they are offering pre made designs for you and also have 50% off piercings. If you still need a little courage then there will be food and drink available and 2 for £10 on cocktails for you to enjoy. Check out the info over on their Facebook event.

Revolution Halloween IT Special:

Once the kids have had all the fun, let your hair down with a well deserved night out at Revolutions at their Halloween IT Special night. Serving up Halloween Cocktails from Barcadi and lots of other scary surprises. The event is on Saturday 26th October and open till 5am, stay out that late if you dare.

Halloween Film and Fizz at Charles Bradlaugh: 

If you’re not one for being scared, don’t worry, the Charles Bradlaugh have you sorted this Halloween. Catch a special screening of Lost Boys as you get unlimited Prosecco with tasty Caribbean Food available. Get your tickets over here.

Death Before Dinner!: 

Grosvenor Casino at the PTS Academy are hosting their first ever Murder Mystery Evening evening on Thursday October 31st. The night tells the story of the grand final of Great Britain’s Baking Off and when someone ends up dead before dinner, you must uncover who did it over a delicious three course dinner. There will also be chocolate tasting game, drink and quiz, a recipe for horror.

Student Screening: The Conjuring: 

If you or your kids are students you can get the chance to watch James Wan’s iconic horror The Conjuring at the lovely Northampton Filmhouse. Wear fancy dress, grab a drink and some food and watch this film for a student discounted price of only £3, but bring your student ID.

Halloween Party at the Old White Hart:

Halloween isn’t just a kids holiday, adults can have fun to. Expect lots of that plus drinks and live music from Frettlyst kicking off the partyat 8pm. Seeing as it’s Halloween it would be rude not to dress up and if you have the best outfit, you can win £50 so go all out, that’ll be your night just about paid for. Tickets are available here.

Horrordrome at The Picturedrome: 

Returning to the Picturedrome is their Halloween night of scares and frights the Horrordrome. Face the scariest ghosts and ghoulies and a whole lot of extra surprises, putting the treat back into trick or treating. There will be great music from Whiteroom and Ian Loveshack will be spinning the decs playing a mix of 80’s, 90’s and 00’s. Fancy dress is of course advised.
