The Music Barn – Kettering’s hottest festival
The Music Barn Festival at Cranford is back for its sixth year and it's a blinder of an event!
The Muddy Stilettos have trodden the grass verges of this great local festival a fair few times and it’s never failed to lift our spirits. Yup, it’s The Music Barn Festival at Cranford (nr Kettering), back for its sixth year and we’ll be returning for our third visit on June 22nd.
Located in the center of disused and agricultural buildings set across two acres of farmland (perfect for those selfies), this music event is getting bigger and better each year and becoming an unmissable date for festival goers calendars. Showcasing local and national musical acts playing genres including rock, folk and electronic, you can guarantee you will hear something you will be adding to your playlist.
This year, progressive rock band KOYO will be headlining the main stage with support from Corby’s own King Purple and The Brand Thieves who were chosen as one of the top twenty acts to book in the UK (FestivalFlyer.com). Some incredible acts to name a few, worth the ticket alone.
Kicking off at 2pm and continuing throughout the evening till late (2am to be exact) there’ll be no time for an afternoon nap (not that you’ll want one). All funds raised will be generously donated to local charities, including Cransley Hospice and Niamh’s Next Step, adding to the already raised £60,000 over the past five years. The organisers are incredibly supportive of local businesses so you’ll get to see the best of Northamptonshire’s food and drink producers, including ‘Bad Boy Ciders’, ‘Nobby Brewery’, ‘The Little Box Co Gin and Fizz’ for your tipples…Plus ‘Stanley Street Eats’ and ‘Greedy Gordons’ for your food. The Old Forge, Cranford, a beautiful tea room and restaurant will again be hosting the acoustic stage at the event with folk music mixed with indie duo The Black Feathers who are headlining this year. Joining them will be Gin House Gypsies, Midnight Honey Club, Carol Hodge, Epigone Jazz Ensemble and Humblebee, so many acts with something for everyone’s musical taste.
If this hasn’t sold it to you already, did I mention it is an adult only event, so no children to look after *cue applause*. A great excuse to have some well-deserved you time sans enfants. For only £25, tickets can be bought from www.musicbarnuk.com, so be sure to get yours with plenty of time knowing you won’t miss out on this local gem of a festival!
