My Single Valentine
Shop, eat, watch a film, repeat! Whether you're single or just choosing to spend Valentine's alone or with mates, the point is, it's all about you...
The day lots of singletons dread, is fast approaching: Valentine’s! Whether it’s crying to Bridget Jones or binge eating chocolate to a new Netflix romcom, being single doesn’t mean being a Valentine’s scrooge. Instead, take a new approach, love yourself! Call your girlfriends or just spend some time on your own. Rushden Lakes is really pushing the love yourself theme, and they do have enough going on there to indulge in some TLC. Here are 4 reasons why being single should be revered, rather than feared.
- Single at the pictures? Result, you manage to get both of the arm rests at the cinema. We all love a good film to disconnect from outside for a few hours and Cineworld is showing the classic Lost Boys on Valentine’s Day!
- Single and ready to mingle? With your pals that is. Call your girlfriends (or male friends) and arrange a dinner and drinky catch up. With so many great places to eat, including Bills, Pizza Express and The new local indie bar Hopmaster, you can enjoy a meal, cocktails and a good old gossip.
- No one to buy a pressie for means you can spend that money on yourself. Of course…you could save the money you’d be spending on your other half but where’s the fun in that? Go on, spoil yourself on those new shoes you’ve seen over at Jones or that dress from Hobbs you just can’t take your mind off!
- What about pampering yourself. Oh yes! Get your eyebrows done or a whole new face of make up over at House of Fraser. The huge make up department has all you need to make you feel, and look incredible. Be your own date for Valentine’s, beautiful.
We kinda like the idea of spoiling oneself at some of the Lakes’ fab shops like Robert Goddard or Phase Eight. Or maybe putting all of that Valentine’s love and attention into your home, sprucing it up with lush items from Next or White Stuff. After the retail therapy you’ve got the restaurants above, or try out Wagamama or Wildwood. The point is, it doesn’t matter who you’re with or not, 2020 is the McFly year. That’s right…It’s All About You…
