The Vibe Facial at Beauty Classics
It’s been a while since Grand Muddy took the plunge and had her eyebrows tattooed and we can safely say they’re still looking beaut – natural and with a spot-on colour match! Super pleased, we were eager to know what else beauty wonder, Elizabeth Hopkins, has to offer, so this time, it was Muddy’s turn to try out the rejuvenating Vibe Facial…
As with a lot of facials this one aims to improve a host of skin problems from dull tired skin, lines, wrinkles to open pores, spots and oily zones, but all based on natural ingredients (and to the best of Liz’s knowledge, have no parabens, mineral oils or added fragrances and are not tested on animals). It begins with a foam mask and deep cleanse using a Snow Cleanser which felt like it was crackling on my face, in a pleasant way…so far so good. Liz then applies a Power Solution (full of peptides don’t you know) and the facial pen is worked over the skin delivering micro piercings accompanied with a micro vibration to stimulate the circulation. It’s not uncomfortable at all, and actually feels like it’s really good for your skin. It’s a relaxing 45 minutes or so and is followed with a soothing mask and a soothing balm. Liz really knows her stuff and talks you through everything, making sure you’re also in receipt of aftercare advice. Some people hear micro piercing and think they’ll feel discomfort, but really, it’s all rather invigorating.
The blurb says it will bring a rosy glow to your face which will settle from 1-12 hours which is what happened to me, and the following few days I had a lovely glow and my make up went on much better than usual. The science behind it is that it gives a boost to the circulation and helps the body to naturally bring nutrients to the skin because the tiny piercings encourage it to go into a healing mode, stimulating collagen production. It’s used to improve many skin problems including lines, wrinkles, dullness, irregular pigmentation, rosacea, open pores, scars, spots and acne (of which I suffer).
Liz has a tonne of training, is a former art teacher (including an art degree) and a fully qualified make up artist, and all her treatments are super professional with Liz’s lovely, laid back manor topping off the experience.
The skin should feel refreshed and the benefits will continue over the next few weeks (I could definitely see results over the following week, but I did get a spot on my chin, which I usually do after a facial). The most benefit comes from having this treatment as a short course but it’s always good to try one out and see if it works for you you (and at this reduced price, why not?). The products are based on natural ingredients, including Aloe Vera, extracts from Damascus Rose, Hibiscus Esculentus, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) and Calendula along with a variety of essential oils for example Lavender, Orange and Sage. And as mentioned, Liz is very selective about the products she uses, in fact, out of all the salons I’ve visited, Liz is up there in pickiness of products! Result.
