Christmas crackers at Rushden Lakes

Late night shopping, Santa and festive activities; Rushden Lakes will get you feeling Xmassy as soon as you arrive

Got that Christmas shopping stress yet? Me too! But no need to worry as our retail (and nature fave), Rushden Lakes, has got the cure to stress-free browsing…late night shopping!

Rushden Lakes is getting the festive season into full swing with late night shopping, visits from that Santa chap and themed activities with The Wildlife Trust. It’s going to be a fun-filled, exciting lead up to the big day, all starting from today (Thurs Dec 6), and remember the shops stay open until 8pm to give you more chance to tick gifts off your list. There’s even entertainment that the littlies will love from 5pm to 7pm from the magic master, Festive Foxely (ok, I don’t know FF but I’ve heard good things), and Christmas hula-hoopers. This Xmas, it’s not just about getting the shopping done, it’s all about enjoying the experience at Rushden Lakes.

The seasonal cheer doesn’t stop there with Santa and his elves arriving at the Lakes on Saturday 8th and 13th from 11am to 4pm. This is a prime opportunity for the kids to meet him and take photos with the big man himself, and of course, the parents can join in too. The Mudsters can post their letters to Santa until Sunday 16 December and then pick up their extra special reply between Monday 17 December and Christmas Eve, a super magical (and free!) experience. The Wildlife Trust BCN are back with more fantastically fun activities and this time they’re adding to the Christmas cheer with festive decoration, wreath making and winter walks on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th.

From Monday 10, Rushden Lakes will be open even later on weekdays (until 9pm) to give you an extra hour to get those wish lists completed. There will be another exciting evening on Thursday 13 December with free mince pies, tote bags and entertainment from The Glitterbelles and roller skating Christmas puddings. Now those free mince pies are great motivation to get the Xmas shopping done! If you need any inspo of where to find some cracking gifts, check out last year’s stocking filler sweep.

Paul Rich, Centre Manager at Rushden Lakes, said the festive activities are going to be great fun for visitors. “2018 has been a great year at Rushden Lakes, with the opening of the East Terrace and the first eateries in the West Terrace, so we can’t wait to celebrate Christmas with our shoppers in December and get ready for an exciting 2019.”
