Oh yes it is! We're packing in the puns this Christmas with Muddy's pick of the perfect pantos for 2018 in Northants.
With Christmas on the on the horizon. why not wholeheartedly embrace more than just the mulled wine and get yourself to one of these fab festive pantos quick. Here is Muddy’s guide to the 2018 Christmas shows we know you’ll love!
Peter Pan, The Royal & Derngate, Guildhall Road, Northampton, NN1 1D, 7th Dec 2018 to 30th Dec 2018
Visit the Royal & Derngate to join the high-flying hero Peter Pan, as he transports the Darlings on an adventure they will never forget full of evil pirates, the lost boys, a very hungry crocodile and the meanest man in Neverland, Captain Hook. The all-star cast includes TV and theatre star Darren Day, dance sensation Flawless, the hilarious comedy double act The Grumbleweeds, and musical theatre performer Rachael Wooding. Tickets start from £18.50 for adults.
Aladdin, The Lighthouse Theatre, Thurston Drive, Kettering NN15 6PB, 13th Dec 2018 to 6th Jan 2019
Starring Arthur Bostrom (‘Allo ‘Allo) as Abanazaar, you’ll be soaring with Aladdin as he jumps aboard the magic carpet for a spectacular panto adventure. Arthur is joined by Britain’s Got Talent finalists and YouTube sensations Twist and Pulse as PCs Hip and Hop, who are also directing and choreographing the show. Kettering Panto favourites, Michael Neilson and Mark Pearce, are back for a third year in a row as they travel to Old Peking and Twankey’s Washeteria to play mother and son – with Michael as Widow Twankey and Mark as her somewhat useless son Wishee Washee. This wonderful rags-to-riches tale is guaranteed to delight all the family and bring a touch of magic and make-believe to your festive celebrations. Once brought to you by Stage Right Productions, this year’s panto will feature spectacular sets, lavish costumes and sing-along-songs that make a trip to the Deco a truly unmissable Christmas treat. What’s more, with not one but two dastardly dames in the shape of the Ugly Sisters, this year’s show is set to be double the fun!
Alice’s Wonderland Adventure, Lovat Hall, Newport Pagnell, Saturday 15th December 7pm till 9:15pm
A childhood favourite for many, the whimsical and quirky tale of Alice is brought to life this Xmas by writer Mike Armes, as the production returns to its original home in Newport Pagnell. With all your favourite characters making an appearance such as the Mad Hatter and White Rabbit, the show is perfect for children from 6+. Entry price is only £6/8 so it’s a bonkers bargain, you’d be mad to miss out on.
Beauty and the Beast, The Core Corby, Friday 7th to Sunday 30th December
Snap up these seats quick as this show has already impressed over 22,000 people in Cambridge and Bristol. The magical story of a courageous girl’s chance encounter with a seemingly ferocious beast is one of kindness, love and a sprinkling of magic. Kettering Youth Theatre Group present their annual Panto performance, set to be genius and I’m not just talking about the genie. Aladdin, the story of a street rat whose wishes are granted, whilst he battles against the forces of evil and protects a princess, is a rollercoaster adventure full of excitement and a few laughs of course. Adult tickets start at just £8.50 each! You’ll be wishing like Aladdin with the genie that you had a seat for this fab show.

Shane Ritchie is starring in the MK Robin Hood production this xmas, brought to you by Qdos Entertainment, the world’s biggest pantomime producer. Beauty and the Beast, Stahl Theatre Oundle, 12th December 6:30pm
As part of the Peterborough-based Lamphouse Theatre Company’s tour, they will be stopping for one night only at the Stahl Theatre based in Oundle, with their magical production of Beauty and the Beast, which is set to be a cracker: live music, dazzling costumes and plenty of beauty!
The Greatest Snowman, Stahl Theatre Oundle, 21st-23rd December
(Warning some seriously cool puns ahead) If one production at the Stahl Theatre was not enough then look no further, as the Telling Tales Children’s Theatre Company presents ‘The Greatest SNOWman’. It will be snow much fun and include all the fun of traditional pantomime, but with a completely fresh story, and some revamped fave tunes that will make your heart melt. Adult tickets cost £16, for the Mudlets it’s £14.00, not to sound like a snow it all.
