The Red Lion Cranford takes hearty, homely pub food to a new contemporary level offering up some of the best pub grub in Northants. Ran by Richard and Sonya, it’s definitely Muddy approved as it’s previously been voted by you Mudsters as one of your favourite pubs. The welcoming and warm environment ensures you’ll be leaving with full stomachs, big smiles and ready for a super snooze, all signs of good pub grub.
The Red Lion is an idyllic traditional village pub with low ceilings, open fires and cosy corners, and with a history that stretches back over 400 years, it’s certainly has real old world character and charm. The contemporary restaurant in the glass extension gives the pub a quirky edge making it a great place for both locals and tourists to hang out.
It can get super busy so booking is recommended, especially if you want to eat in the contemporary dining area with quirky tables and chairs. Walk-ins are welcomed so take a chance and turn up unannounced to eat in the bar area. With coal fires, board games, and a brilliant selection of drinks, you would be set for the night. On the warmer days, you can enjoy the lovely beer garden which comes complete with a play area to keep the little ones (and the dog) occupied, so you can enjoy a pint in peace.
This Northants hotspot just gets better as they use the very best local produce, recycle all their waste and have a real essence of the environment. They also have an outside catering company called Stoved Outside and can host private parties – what more can you expect from a quaint village pub?!
