Eat Out

  • The Wharf – Bugbrooke

A cider and beer festival this weekend, with a great line-up of music, and a beautiful canal-side setting (eek)!

  • 7 brilliant beer gardens

Suns out, Guns out? Not for this demure Muddy, however I will be frequenting a beer garden should the rain hold off, and there’s some suitably welcoming spots to choose from.

  • The Fat Duck, Bray

The waiting list just got longer. Not Northants based, but newsworthy, as Heston Blumenthal’s Berkshire restaurant is named 10th best in the world.

  • Bravo Nuovo!

Nuovo – it’s Italian for fresh, different and up to date. And it’s why this Muddy has never been disappointed whenever I’ve visited over the past year and a half.

  • Muddy teams up with Althorp

Who will you vote for as your favourite exhibitor at this brilliant festival of food, fun and frolics?

  • The Stanwick Hotel

This Muddy is a regular visitor to The Stanwick Hotel, (formerly The Courtyard Hotel), as I have a monthly networking group I go to that’s hosted there (never networked? You haven’t lived ; ) Also they’re a Muddy Award winner, so I thought you guys could probably do with a peek inside too!

  • 6 reasons The Kitchen Secret will change your life

The Kitchen Secret, brainchild of the scrumptious Tash Perkins, who comes to your kitchen, chops, dices, steams, stirs, whisks, frys and roasts you up a storm with only the freshest ingredients. Oh and did I mention she does all the food shopping too (calm down Mudsters, I can hear the excited screams from here)!

  • The Brampton Halt

It’s good for a beer festival AND for a meal, read our review of the pub set in Northamptonshire’s gorgeous countryside (and there’s a pond)!

    • Battle of the Bangers on St George’s Day

The Welsh may have their leeks, the Scots their Haggis, and the Irish, er potatoes, but what do English Northamptonshire types have to celebrate on our patron saint’s day? Dragon burgers?  Nope – sausages. I’d like to claim that the common sausage was English, and specifically – from Northants but it’s not, so bear with […]

    • Tea at Highgate House

A 5 star afternoon tea experience and free glass of sparkly for each diner (it would be rude not to, no?)
