With Mother’s Day around the corner we’ve put together a list of some fabarooni Northants places to treat her (or indeed, for you to be treated). With a range of restaurants, spas and quirky ideas, there’s sure to be something to keep at least one of you happy!
1. Mother’s Day Lunch or Dinner at 185 Watling St Pub & Kitchen, Towcester
This popular eaterie pub is hosting a special menu on 31st March for Mother’s Day. With a seasonal selection of yummy goodness, this is one that will tick the foodie box: should that be what she loves! Have a look at their menu online or book by calling on 01327317177. We’ve reviewed it more than once, so it must be good!
2. Afternoon Tea at Dreams Coffee Lounge
Enjoy a delicious afternoon tea at one of Northampton’s most popular coffee lounges, Dreams on St Giles Street. Served from 2pm Monday – Saturday, you can treat your mum to freshly prepared sandwiches, scones, a slice of cake and a pot of either tea or coffee, all for £15.95 per head, minimum of two persons. Give them on a call or use their contact form to book! New Muddy intern Ciaran, swears by this place!
3. Spa Day at Hellidon Lakes Spa
Is your Mum in need of a well deserved relaxing day of doing well, nothing but relaxing really? Book in for a day of just that at Hellidon Lakes Spa, perfect for unwinding with full use of their leisure facilities and treatment options. Stay the day or make a weekend of it, just visit online to find the perfect package to suit, and leave feeling like a Queen!
4. Fawsley Hall
Celebrate Mother’s Day with a 2 or 3 course Lunch at Fawsley Hall. Mum will receive a complimentary glass of Prosecco too, or she might give it to you as a thank you, who knows? Enjoy a flavoursome treat made with creativity and taste in mind, and served with a lather of luxury. Be sure to reserve either online or over the phone and sit down, relax and enjoy (we’ve stayed at least 4 times and had a different, but amazing experience every time).
5. Mother’s Day dinner at Cromwell Cottage.
Say thank you to the amazing ladies in your life, Mum, Nana, Auntie, or anyone that deserves a special thank you! Three courses of beautiful food for £23.95 pp at the warm and cosy Cromwell Cottage. Be sure to enjoy your meal with a glass of wine or even a cheeky cocktail and just kick back and relax (surely no Mum is designated driver on this day)!
6. Mother’s Day Posies at Canons Ashby
Fancy something a little different for Mother’s Day? Head to Canons Ashby and get stuck in and have a go at making a hand-made posy in the grand Tudor kitchen (doubles up as a thank you gift to your Mum, result)! A suggested donation of £1 or anything else you wish to give will all go towards Canons Ashby to help support. More information can be found here.
7. Stoke Bruerne Canal Walk
If you don’t fancy heading out to a restaurant or going for a spa day, why not take your mum to the beautiful village of Stoke Bruerne near Towcester and head for a walk along the famous canal. With a free canal museum and stunning woodland walk, get your family together and go for an amble in the countryside. If you fancy grabbing a bite to eat after, there are plenty of pubs and restaurants along the way to stop off at for a lovely libation.
8. Mother’s Day Lunch at the Walnut Tree Pub
This Blisworth pub is offering a set menu for Mother’s Day including a traditional Sunday Lunch! At an affordable price of £24.50 for 3 courses, treat your mum and spend some quality time together whilst eating delicious food!
9. Sunday Slumber Spa Package at Whittlebury Hall
Mother’s Day just got a whole lot better with this Sunday Slumber package from Whittlebury Hall. Enjoy a 2 course carvery meal in the Atrium and then unwind with full use of their heat and ice experiences from 4-8pm. If you wanted to go all out and treat your mum (and yourself of course!) why not stay overnight in one of their luxury rooms and be treated to a full English breakfast the next morning? Prices start from £99 per person.
10. Retail therapy at The Rural Shopping Yard
Who doesn’t love a little retail therapy? You’ll be sure to find it here at the rural shopping yard, Castle Ashby, offering a selection of quirky shops in the old converted farm buildings. From gifts to footwear, say thank you to your Mum by treating her to a day of discovering something special. You can also enjoy a stroll around the beautiful gardens and relax over a coffee and lunch or even afternoon tea.
