Two minute pitch for – brewbabu

The name brewbabu is made up of brew as in ‘drink’ and the term ‘babu’ which is used in South Asia/India as a sign of respect

I know you gorgeous peeps are a busy lot, so I’m kicking off a new regular blog where I do a quick 2 minute pitch for somewhere I’ve visited (a kind of movie pitch if you like; where I think of you lot as Harvey Weinstein, and I’m trying to sell you in the next big blockbuster). So first up on the roster is brewbabu, a cute boutique brew bar in Oundle!

As you can see, it looks pretty! And we like things that look pretty, because it makes us feel special!Collage 2

And a brewing bar has a certain ring to it does it not? Dyna Graham the owner takes boutique brewing to a whole new level at brewbabu, and if that wasn’t reason enough to visit, it’s in the heart of Oundle (pretty, pretty, pretty market town in Northants).

Let's move to OundleNow a quick point I should mention, I am like a little old lady when it comes to tea, and have a mahoosive selection of tea pots and teas, but not as many as brewbabu (so if you like tea, you’ll LOVE brewbabu). If  you don’t know what you want, ask away! Each pot is served either for one person or two, and comes with a timer for perfect strength tea (I loved this)!Collage 3 There’s gorgeous coffee from around the world too (freshly ground to order, yum) and the food menu is changed daily and is seasonal! Whether you want brekkie or lunch, homemade cakes or scones (cheese scones are a best seller), you’re spoiled for choice. We had posh beans on toast (scrummy and a little bit different with – butter or cannellini beans instead of usual baked beans) and homemade quiche and salad, with potato wedges (perfect crumbly pastry and a savoury tartness to to the filling).Collage 4Chalk boardsAll in all, a pretty perfect boutique brew bar. So if you want quirky decor, a lovely chilled vibe and great food; I suggest you hot foot it over to Oundle!IMG_3426

* Brewbabu is open seven days a week, Mon- Sat 9am to 6pm, Sunday 10am to 5pm. It can be hired for private parties and is fully licensed, serving great wines and beers (result)! The lovely Devine Betty’s are hosting a supper club there on 1 April, and those ladies have some proper top nosh too (keep your eyes peeled for a DB blog post : )
