Getting shirty with Frangipani

Sometimes a fashion brand comes along that makes you want to weep with gratitude. Mr Muddy definitely falls into the category of big softy and so this Muddy family is well used to his emotional and usually teary outbursts at sporting events, rom coms and superb wine (he apportions all of this emotion to having supported Everton from the age of 6).  But this is something new. Recently, when he opened his latest package from his new best friend, Benny at Frangipaniyou could see the tears of emotion well up once more. Mr Muddy has become a Happy Shopper and covets Frangipani shirts above all others. There’s something about the bold prints, Indian cotton, party vibe and, ahem, clever cut around the midriff, that makes him almost giddy when the parcel drops into the Muddy Northants doorstep.

I thought for ages that the brand came from Australia or New Zealand – it has that kind of relaxed holiday feeling to it…

…but actually it’s a British brand, set up by a lovely couple called Benny and Clem, who were on honeymoon in India, and fell in love with the fabrics out there and had the great idea to start their own fashion brand. But you can see their point can’t you? The fabrics, which they now design themselves, are amazing. So here’s what to expect.  These shirts are made to be lived in, not just rolled out for special occasions. They’re being worn with shorts, jeans. They’re not suited to a particular age, they’re for everyone – and so, there’s a Frangipani shirt for every man in your life.

Mr Muddy (Northants edition) claims that he’ll give up some of his other  obsessions (but not Everton Football Club) in an attempt to fund and build up his collection. A shirt for all seasons if you will. I don’t think it’s going be too long before he’s asking for some of his relinquished wardrobe space back, because not only do the shirts look and feel great they’re actually super affordable, retailing for around £75 – so comparable to a lot of the high street retailers.

Mr Muddy reckons date night is actually Frangipani night

If your other half’s upper-half wear needs an overhaul, check out the new summer range. Father’s Day/Summer Hols/Goodison Park done and dusted in one block-printed swoop, don’t you think Mr Muddy?

So what do Benny and Clem feel about their shirts?

“A light-weight cotton that when saturated with our vibrant colour-ways is perfect for any occasion and utterly wearable. Speaking from experience we know that not every day is a slimline day, so we have devoted much time to perfecting the fit of our shirts so they flatter and feel good too. Go ahead and have that beer. Our shirts are fitted on the side but loose round the middle. They are timeless, even if we aren’t!”

Yep, Mr M will have that all day long.
