Cosy up with Autumn interior trends

It's the home of good design, so we asked Bell of Northampton for their style tips

As we bid farewell to the summer months it’s time to take note of the new season’s most wanted décor ready to revamp your home for autumn/winter. After spending a few pleasant hours at Bell in Northampton and mentally redecorating my whole house, I thought I’d ask one of their interior designers to give us some tips. On their website they have a lovely sentiment which says, ‘have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful,’ and that definitely resonates with me around autumn when we’re lighting candles and getting all hygge in front of the fire! Amelia Freestone, Interior Design Team Leader says it’s easy to zhush up your home living space with accessories, colour, mirrors, artwork and even clocks to give walls drama and accentuate furniture. And just for you Muddy reader, she’s given us her top 4 trends for the season!

Colour Blocking

The use of colour blocking in your home is a quick and easy way to prepare it for autumn, creating a warm, contemporary look.

Wallpapering part of your room with some amazing Brian Yates wallpaper brings in some gorgeous textures; whether it be a pop of colour under the stairs, one feature wall or your downstairs loo! Sofas and chairs are a great way to inject colour too.

Geometric Tiles

Geometric tiles in monochrome colours are a simple way of adding another dimension to your kitchen or bathroom. Pairing them up with rustic wood accessories creates an eclectic unique look. White, grey or black are popular colours to use and look super stylish.

Mixes of Textures

Faux fur textures at Bells Northampton

Mixing textures such as faux fur, wood, velvet, glass and linen into your living room creates a cozy feel. Adding a Helen Moore faux fur throw can look luxurious whilst being a lovely accessory to snuggle up in front of the fire!

Jewel Colours

The popularity of jewel colours has been huge over the past year and shows no sign of waning, especially now the nights are drawing in.

Deep colours such as teal, emerald green and burgundy used in cushions or throws can instantly transform your summery home into a cosy Autumnal boudoir!

A lot of you already know that Bell is a superb destination to discover ideas for all your home project shizzle and passions. Their products are hand picked by designers with top-dog knowledge and experience and they offer a design service that can kit and style your house from top to bottom. I see Bell like Selfridges, but for your home. Go on, pop along, and I bet you mentally decorate your whole house!

Bell of Northampton, Kingsthorpe Rd, Northampton NN2 6LT.
