The Castle Youth Theatre returns this Autumn
Got any performing-arts passionate kids? Take them to the Castle!
The Castle Theatre, Wellingborough is bringing the fun for youngsters this Autumn with their Castle Youth Theatre. It’s making a long-awaited return, offering weekly drama workshops for kids with a passion for performing.
Led by Melissa and Evangeline, the classes teach different aspects of the theatrical world, whilst giving kids a chance to form new friendships, gain in self-confidence and most importantly have fun! Melissa and Evangeline’s passion and backgrounds in drama make them perfectly qualified for the role and they want to take the drama classes one step further making them more immersive with tech and projections; meaning this is more than just an am-dram experience.
Chatting to Muddy the pair explained that drama classes are so important for kids, not only to build their confidence, but to give them a safe space away from home and school a chance to focus on something new, forgetting about any stress and pressure.
Based in a professional studio, the sessions are available for kids aged 6-14 and gives them the chance to perform on the Castle Theatre stage as part of a flagship musical (yet to be announced). It’s an exciting time for the theatre as they’re not only looking at producing full-scale musicals but also looking at trying out new writing.
With a vision to keep the Youth Theatre going for years, this is an experience you really want to get the Mudlets involved in (if it sounds like their kinda thing).
Sessions take place on Tuesdays for ages 11-14yrs (Secondary School) and Fridays for ages 6-11yrs (Primary School), costing £70 and £65 respectively per term. Just call up the box office on 01933 270 007, head to their website or head down to the theatre to find out more or to request a registration form.
