Rushden Lakes fest for 2nd B’day

Can you believe it’s already been two years since the opening of Rushden Lakes? Oh, how time flies. To celebrate, the Lakes are pulling out all the stops to make it a Birthday to remember

You should all know by now we love Rushden Lakes here at Muddy and what a perfect spot for a festival. On 27th & 28th July they’ll be hosting a two day festival extravaganza (not a portaloo in sight)! The promenade will be beautifully decorated with a huge free standing 6ft Rushden Lakes sign and a whole lot of colourful flags, bunting and ribbon; who needs Glasto ey?!

The stores will be getting involved handing out all sorts of free bits and pieces and there’ll be a whole lot of great things to do including cocktail masterclasses, outdoor games, bike trips and canoeing on the lake. If you fancy really getting into the festival spirit, head over to the festival hub which features bespoke, colourful cabins. You can be in with a chance of winning a styling session, getting dressed up in all sorts of brands from Jack Wills and Jigsaw and, to complete the look, festival make up will be provided by House of Fraser and Accessorize – bring on the glitter! Oh, and not forgetting the ray of talent that will be keeping you entertained throughout the weekend, from live music to street performers, dancers to acrobats.

If you’re bringing the kids along, they can guarantee to be kept busy with craft activates at Hobbycraft, slime station from Flying Tiger and even toasting marshmallows on the fire pit with Cotswolds. All that while you kick back on the bean bags and deck chairs all over the festival zone where you can soak in the atmosphere and enjoy the entertainment – drink in hand of course! Before you head home, either play a game of golf in the outdoor mini golf course at Paradise Island or rock climbing at Rock Up or both, it’s open till 8pm Sat and 5pm Sun!

Everyone loves free samples, especially when it’s food and drink, so don’t miss out on the great offering from restaurants and cafes across the Lakes including Pizza Express, Heavenly Desserts, Zizzi plus a whole lot more to keep you fuelled up for the weekend.

There’ll be some generous discounts at selected stores, competitions and giveaways, so who knows you might not need to splash the cash on all those bits and pieces you’ve had your eye on? More info on the festival and how you can sign up for all the offers are right here
