The Griffin’s Head is a traditional village pub serving great real ales, wines and (proper) gastro pub grub in a lovely, relaxed way. Located in Mears Ashby, it combines all the values of a classic English pub making you feel welcome as soon as you step into the restored historic inn.
Specialising in steaks cooked over charcoal, the gastro food is lovingly cooked with the kitchen rules being freshness and seasonality (we know the chef, food really is his passion). The menu board specials change daily, reflecting what’s currently in season. Anyone is welcome, families, friends and travelling foodies can all grab themselves a pint of real ale (with a homemade scotch egg) put their feet up, relax and enjoy.
The pub does more than just dish up scrummy food; it has quizzes, live music and other events throughout the year. It’s great for a mid-week treat too with offers like Meat and Malbec every Tuesday where you can enjoy their signature steak and a glass of red for £35 a couple, or the Deer and Bear every Thursday where a pint of Nobby’s comes alongside a Venison sausage casserole – count us in!
