The Ukulele Lady – Sara Spade
Muddy Says: Sarah brings bags of energy and joy to any audience, alongside her obvious musical talents - which will have you captivated from the first strum!
Sara Spade is Northampton’s own Radio 2 Singer Songwriter and The Ukulele Lady. That’s quite a title isn’t it? She performs authentic vintage songs from the 1920s to the 1950s and her enthusiasm for possibly the cutest ever instrument doesn’t stop there. Sara uses her undoubted talent to teach ukulele playing either on a on a 1:1 basis or to larger groups. It’s great fun and you’ll know you’re in the hands of an expert.
And what of her performing talents? Her recent hit song ‘Boy Next Door’ has been played on BBC Radio 2, and she sets her own songs next to Charlestons like “Five Foot Two, Eyes of Blue”, jazz versions of “It Must Be Love” and heart-melting ballads like “Secret Love”. Such are her talents that she’s been recognised by one the UK’s greatest songwriter and performer, Jools Holland who says: “She has a fantastic voice – her band makes me want to dance… they have that magical element which it’s almost impossible to put your finger on!”. We say – absolutely!!
So it’s lucky for us that when our Ukulele lady isn’t on tour with ‘Sara Spade & The Noisy Boys’, Sara is willing and able to provide utterly inspirational ukulele classes, workshops and special events. With 30 ukuleles provided, Sara can bring musical learning and sheer fun to your event.
Why not host a vintage themed ukulele party, a team-building workshop or hire her as a roving musician for your party, complete with ukulele taster sessions? A generous helping of charm, elegance and humour is guaranteed. Her wonderful fashion sense is something else entirely – wowser! We were bowled over at the Muddy Awards (because of course, we’re trend setters here ; )
