Who lives in a house like this?

13266132_10153862142448124_2999688234972090984_nRight, it’s nearly November so it’s kind of ok to mention Christmas is it not? We’re pretty lucky in this county for Xmas markets, but Pipewell Hall is a little bit different. It’s indoors for one, and not in a dusty church hall. Nope. No dark and unused corners here, it’s in the owners’ home with roaring fires and mulling wine (I can almost smell the orange and cinnamon from here).champagneph_zx3s1656I met Trudie Baker along with her hubby Shawn (and their talented trainee chef daughter), running their Bakers Bangers stall at the Althorp Food & Drink festival in September. Mr Muddy bonded with Shawn over their mutual love of minced pork and Trudie recognised the Muddy Stilettos card, and consequently invited me to her lovely abode (and this is no two-up, two-down dear reader; I had major house envy).

pipewell-great-hallpipewell-103449366_42310_img_02_0000The house is also used for weddings and photography shoots (more info to come in 2017), and is a fantastic backdrop if you want something that little bit special…but what about the festivities, I hear you cry? Well; the two day Champagne & Shopping extravaganza is on the 17 & 18 Nov, and both days promise to be full of fun and frolics. On the Thursday, you’ll find Muddy and cohorts sipping on fizz at the preview evening from 7pm – 9.30pm, avec Trudie’s canapes and hospitality. Now, I’ve only met Trudie twice, but this lady put the word Mostess into Hostess. I only popped in for a quick chat and she had homemade chocolate cookies (OH MY GOD), and Lemon Verbena fresh from the garden.

9bd45ac6-8cbd-45b3-86ca-70cf1b53420eI know what you’re thinking…’will Trudie be able to make delish canapes for us all if it’s in her own home..?’ Well, ahem, here’s a sneaky look at her kitchen, eeek.003_bakerDoes this look like a place that throws a good party, I think so! My sources tell me there’ll be fizz, song, mulled wine, scrummy food, gifty goodies and much more. Muddy favourites Goody 2 Shoes and Warner Edwards will be there, and you KNOW there’ll be lil’ tasters from all of the stalls! Last year Trevor the Turkey was in attendance, all trussed up (no not in foil) in his gingham bow and pink do; so I’m sure there’ll be some other surprises too.img_0545snow-pipewell-feb09-139-4215123The Champagne, Canapes & Shopping tickets for the Thurs eve are £25.00 each, and Friday is the Shopping Day, which is from 10am – 4pm, tickets only a fiver. And should you fancy some fresh air while you’re there, feel free to take a walk in the grounds, I think you’ll agree, it’s no ordinary back garden!!!ph_zx3s1693ddbc37c2-8bcc-4267-a3f0-31a6566e4e0cAnd it’s not all hedonistic fun, as all proceeds from the evening will be given to the Batten Disease Family Association (more information is available by contacting Trudie or Patsy below, or have a chat with them at the events). So, if you’d like to do some Christmas shopping with some like-minded people in an environment that will make you feel more Xmassy than the Whos down in Whoville, pop along to Pipewell Hall. I’ll be the one with the fizz, hugging Trevor the Turkey ; )
