Wouldn’t you though?

img_0228I have a friend who loves trinket shops and spends hours in them, while I invariably find the nearest coffee shop and curl up with a Grazia. While out moseying at Heart of the Shires a wee while back, reviewing Abraxas Country Clothing, my curiosity was piqued by what appeared to be an animal themed shop. So in I went, and guess what? It was indeed an animal themed shop! Alfie’s Ark to be exact! A small, indie collectibles and gift shop stocking loads of animal themed items for er, animal lovers.

img_0226You don’t have to be an animal lover really. There are some great pieces, including a stunning range of Henryka amber and silver jewellery (in animal form obvs) and Shirley MacArthur Happy Horse prints (LOVED these).

img_0229I went for a very adorable Sass & Belle blue whale dish (because every home should have a blue whale dish). Since my purchase, I have used it for roasted mixed nuts and anti pasti, but mostly it’s in my hallway display cabinet looking lovely.

img_1710logo-ukThe owner Sarah Hough is very nice, and will talk you through all the animal themed goodies with gusto!

It’s all hotting up at Heart of the Shires for Xmas, so next up on my travels will be Texture Interiors, where I’ll be pimping up the Muddy lounge with some soft furnishings (have you been? It’s interiors-porn heaven)!img_0198
