It's that time of year to wrap up warm and get sparkly with the sparklers! Here's the lowdown on where to go across Northants to enjoy the fizz, pop and bang this year...

With half term arriving pretty soonish, Muddy has done a roundup of all the best, or should I say LITtest fireworks displays and bonfires in the Northants area, which are sure to keep the Mudlets entertained…who knew a sparkler or glow stick could bring so much joy? Get organised, get your tickets and get yourself to one of these fab events- Muddy writer, Holly Lamb, has found 18 that are sure to make your 2018 half term have a little more flare…


Fireworks Night at Billing Aquadrome

WHERE: Billing Aquadrome, Crow Lane, Little Billing, Northampton

WHEN: Sat 3rd Nov

TIME: 4pm- 10pm

HOW MUCH: £10 per car (including 4 passengers) any more adults are £5 and under 4’s go free. There is also a £5 parking charge.

Boughton Pocket Park Fireworks and Bonfire Night

WHERE: Boughton Pocket Park

WHEN: Sat 3rd Nov

TIME: Gates open 4:30pm, Fireworks at 5:30pm

HOW MUCH: Tickets on sale from 6th Oct, buy in advance for £3.50 or pay £5 on the day

Boughton House Gunpowder Plot event– a retelling of the Gunpowder Plot

WHERE: Boughton House Northamptonshire

WHEN: Sat 3rd Nov- Mon 5th Nov

TIME: Sat 7:30pm, Mon ends at 9pm

HOW MUCH: From £12.50

OTHER INFO: The completely reimagined show from Leicester theatre company MBD will feature an all-new score, script, choreography and animation when it’s staged in the grounds of the stately home. Ring 01536 515731 for more info.

Guy Fawkes Night Delapre Abbey (non firework event)

WHERE: Delapre Abbey, Northampton

WHEN: Sun 4th Nov

TIME: 4pm – 7pm

HOW MUCH: Free entry, however candlelit tours and storytelling tickets can be bought at the event or through calling 01604 866712 where they can be emailed directly.

OTHER INFO: Perfect for dogs and little Mudlets for a quieter evening with no fireworks. There will be marshmallow toasting, biscuit decorating and a torchlight procession.

Northampton Fireworks Display at the Racecourse

WHERE: The Racecourse, Kettering Road, Northampton

WHEN: Sun 4th Nov

TIME: Starts at 2pm , LED glow and fire show at 5.45pm, fireworks from 7pm, closes at 8pm

HOW MUCH: (tbc) in previous years it has been a free event

OTHER INFO: There will be music, rides and food.

Duston Mills Firework Display

WHERE: Duston Mills, Upton Way, Northampton

WHEN: Sat 3rd Nov

TIME: 2pm until 10pm

HOW MUCH: £5 each, free on site car parking

Santa Pod Raceway Fireworks Frenzy

WHERE: Santa Pod Raceway, Airfield Road, Wellingborough

WHEN: Sat 3rd Nov

TIME: Main activities between 4pm- 7pm, gates open at 2pm

HOW MUCH: £25 per car in advance, or £30 on the door, to book tickets phone 01234 782828

OTHER INFO: There will also be a stunt display, family entertainment, bonfire and a funfair.

Nene Valley District Scouts 51st Annual Firework Display

WHERE: Rushden Hall Park

WHEN: Sat 3rd Nov

TIME: Starts at 6:30 pm

HOW MUCH: Advance Tickets: Adult £5.00 Children £3.00 (aged 3-14 years)

OTHER INFO: Live music, competitions and a firework display.

Kimbolton Fireworks (approx. 20 mins from Rushden area)

WHERE: Kimbolton (Senior) School, High Street Kimbolton, Huntingdon

WHEN: Friday 2nd Nov

TIME: Gates open at 6pm

HOW MUCH: Prices tbc, last year’s prices: £12.50 adult ticket, children under 16 are free.

OTHER INFO: the event attracts around 6,000 people and their promises to be a live band, plenty of food stands and a funfair for the Mudlets.



Brackley Town Fireworks

WHERE: Magadalen College School, (St John’s site), High Street, Brackley

WHEN: Sat 3rd Nov

TIME: Gates open at 5pm, Fireworks starting at 7pm

Corby Borough Council Firework and Bonfire Display

WHERE: Corby Boating Lake, NN17 2UN

WHEN: Mon 5th Nov

TIME: 6:30pm until 9pm, (fireworks start at 7:30)


OTHER INFO: Bring a torch for the torchlight procession and avoid parking by the roadside or the verges near the Boating Lake. Ring 01536 464042 for more info.


Daventry Fireworks

WHERE: Parker E-Act school

WHEN: Sat 3rd Nov

TIME: Gates open 6:30pm, fireworks starting 7:30pm


OTHER INFO: Toffee apples, hot food and marshmallow are on offer to grab before the show starts.

Pattishall Bonfire and Fireworks display

WHERE: Pattishall Playing Field & village hall, School Road, Astcote, Pattishall, Northamptonshire, NN12 8NN

WHEN: Sat 3rd Nov

TIME: Gates open at 6pm as does the Cafe. Bonfire will be lit at 6:30pm, followed by a 7pm start for the fireworks display.

HOW MUCH: £3 for adults, £1 for children, and kids under 5 go free!

Roade FC Fireworks Display

WHERE: Roade Football Club, Hyde Park, Roade, Northamptonshire

WHEN: Fri 2nd Nov

TIME: From 6pm, bonfire will be lit at 7pm and the fireworks commence at 7:30pm


OTHER INFO: Contact for more info, there is a guaranteed funfair and bonfire.



Brigstock Bonfire Night

WHERE: The Meadow, Brigstock, NN14 3ET

WHEN: Sun 4th Nov

TIME: From 5:30pm

HOW MUCH: Tickets will be available nearer the date, keep an eye on the Brigstock council website or pay on the door.

Wicksteed Park Fireworks

WHERE: Wicksteed Park, Barton Road, Kettering, Northamptonshire

WHEN: Sat 3rd Nov

TIME: From 5pm, Bonfire lit at 7:15pm, Fireworks at 8pm

HOW MUCH: Free car parking, tickets are £4 until 29th October and £5 on the night, babies under 12 months go free

Silverstone Walter Hayes Trophy, Stunt and Fireworks Show

WHERE: Silverstone Circuit, Towcester

WHEN: Sat 3rd Nov- Sun 4th Nov

TIME: Watch the Walter Hayes Trophy, the World’s largest Formula Ford 1600 event, and then expect even more action on Saturday with the spectacular Silverstone Stunt & Fireworks show commencing at 18:00.

HOW MUCH: Tickets can be bought online, ticket price includes both the stunt and fireworks show as well as the Walter Hays Trophy.. A £1.50 handling fee is applicable to each order.

Silverstone fireworks


Barnwell Themed Bonfire and Fireworks

WHERE: Barnwell Recreation Ground, Barnwell, Peterborough

WHEN: Sun 4th Nov

TIME: From 5pm, Bonfire will be lit at 6:45pm

HOW MUCH: £5 adults, £4 school ages, Pre-schoolers go free, free parking at the recreation ground.
