Everyone’s favourite 1970s classic TV comedy, Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em is back with Joe Pasquale starring as the loveable accident-prone Frank Spencer, Sarah Earnshaw as his wife Betty and Susie Blake as his disapproving Mother-in-Law, Mrs Fisher.

The most successful sitcom of the decade gave us the hapless Frank and his long-suffering wife Betty with catch phrases galore and a never-ending list of disasters with roller-skating escapades and runaway chickens.

Living Legends: Hidden Histories Exhibition, The Rooftop Arts Centre, Corby, 11am-4pm, Wed 2 May – Sat 2 June

The exhibition has taken inspiration from the ‘Humans of New York’ social media campaign and aims to uncover the hidden stories of Corby and reflect the changing face of the town. It features ten local people who have an extraordinary story to tell; an incredible experience, an uncelebrated achievement or a surprising fact about their life.

Raunds Music Festival, Saxon Hall, Wellingborough, Thurs 3 – Sun 6 May

A great little festival bringing roots music and dance to east Northants. Now in its 17th incarnation. We host a long weekend of music and the arts based in Raunds in East Northants. Concerts, Jazz Cafe, dancing, song & tune sessions, workshops, young people’s projects and other events.

Mindfulness Course, Nagarjuna Kadampa Meditation Centre, Thornby, Sun 6 May

The Original Theatre Company takes on Oscar Wilde’s classic play with a wonderfully witty, deliciously decadent and classic revival

Jack wishes to marry Algernon’s cousin the beautiful Gwendolen but first he must convince her mother, the fearsome Lady Bracknell, of the respectability of his parents and his past. For Jack, however, this is not as easy as it sounds, having started life abandoned in a handbag at Victoria station. Prepare to take a welcome turn with Wilde’s much-loved Algernon, Jack, Gwendolen and Cecily, as town and country clash in a brilliant and wildly funny story of romance, identity, perambulators and capacious handbags.

The festival is a family friendly, culinary delight taking place at the stunning Althorp Estate. Opportunity to see and buy many paintings by local artists, in the beautiful setting of All Saints’ Church, Great Harrowden. It’s a well established exhibition attracting work from a number of different artists. There will be an ‘Artist in Residence’ demonstrating watercolour painting every afternoon from 2-4pm. There is also a children’s area where they can draw pictures while parents enjoy looking around. There will also be many unframed paintings and prints for sale, plus greetings cards and some craft items. We also have a section of ‘pre-loved’ original paintings for sale, for which we ask for donations.
