ARTS AND CRAFTS: Christmas candle making, Bay Tree Cottage, Maidford Road, Farthingstone, Towcester, Northamptonshire NN12 8HE, Wed 14th November, 9.30am-3pm

If you enjoy the beauty and fragrance of candles in your home, then get ready to make your own this year. Join the Bay Tree cottage workshops for a one day class, where you can make your own bespoke range of candles to keep or give away. KIDS: Nature tots, Barnwell Country Park, Barnwell Road, Oundle, Northamptonshire PE8 5PB, Wed 14th Nov, 10- 11:30 AM

At just £3.50 per child, nature tots is perfect for parents and age 2-4 tots who want to explore nature through the seasons. An Education Ranger will be on hand to lead to themed walk, which is followed by an exciting craft activity. Booking is essential and can be done by phoning 07703 160878. Get outdoors and wonder the woods this week.

EVENT: Refreshments in the Courtyard and Gardens, 15th November, 10:30-12, The Cowper and Newton Museum, Olney

With a lovely view of Olney Church Spire, the Refreshments events in the Courtyard & Gardens are just a stone’s throw from Olney Market. Escape the bustle of the Market Place to enjoy delicious refreshments and a friendly welcome. The idyllic 18th century Georgian gardens are very picturesque and can be enjoyed with tea or coffee and a homemade cake in Cowper’s charming Courtyard. All proceeds from the event and the refreshments go towards the upkeep of the local Museum.

If you are looking for something a little more quirky, then head to Psychic Switch to experience 4 different Psychics and Mediums in 1 amazing night. The bar will be open and serving refreshments throughout the evening for over 18’s only. So what are you waiting for, why not take a step closer to the future this week.  Simply book online, tickets only cost £20.

FOOD/ THEATRE: The Ten (Food) Commandments by Jay Rayner, Royal & Derngate Northampton, Friday 16th November.

Legendary Masterchef critic Jay Rayner is redefining the rules of food in his new show, which will include a Q & A, as well as a book-signing. So break the rules this November, don’t just stay and watch your average Friday night TV. Venture out for 7:45pm, to the Royal & Derngate, for an evening sure to be filled with laughter and plenty of foodie fun. C’mon it’s two of the best things in life: food and theatre, could it be any more perfect?

THEATRE: Hazel O’Connor, Opera Boys and Miller Plays the Musicals, The Royal & Derngate 15th -17th November

 

The Derngate has a whole host of other exciting shows starting from the 12th Nov: The Odyssey, Foster and Allen, Live on Mars, Dylan Moran and many more!!! Hazel O’Connor & Breaking Glass is on Thu 15 November, Opera Boys on Fri 16 November and Miller Plays The Musicals on Sat 17 November. It’s sure to be a theatre filled week. With every £10 donation made by audiences through an Xmas booking being matched by Royal & Derngate to provide a free ticket for either Peter Pan, The Worst Witch or The Everywhere Bear (throughout the festive period), give disadvantaged children living in Northamptonshire the chance to visit the theatre this Christmas.

FOOD: Bully Beef Afternoon Tea, Memory Lane Tearooms Northamptonshire NN10 9YU, available until Fri 16th Nov during normal tearoom opening hours 11.30 – 2.30pm, Mon – Fri.

Take a trip down memory lane and commemorate the 100 year anniversary of WW1, by attending this traditional afternoon tea at the Memory Lane Tearooms. They promise corned beef sandwiches, traditional tea and plenty of biscuits. It’s just £8.50 for one, or £15.50 for two, so grab a friend and enjoy. KIDS: Build a Bear workshop at the Wicksteed Park Craft and Gift Fair, 17th November, 11-4pm, Barton Road Kettering

With parking and Mudlet admission being free for this marvellous market, why not avoid the tears and treat them to a teddy. Run by the Just Party team, tickets are just £12 and can be bought online. Splash the cash on the ticket quick as it’s a one time exclusive and saves you trekking to the Centre at MK to buy the furry friend.

With xmas fast approaching, feel those festive vibes by visiting this fab fayre in Higham Ferrers. Not only is it FREE entry, but there is set to be over 20 local business owners, all under one roof. The star of the show is certainly the Hog Roast and other delicious food will be available all day.
