Cider and Ale festival, The Wharf, Bugbrooke, from  Fri 26 – 29 May

Situated next to the Grand Union Canal and in the picturesque countryside of Bugbrooke, Northampton, The Wharf is a pub-restaurant selling traditional pub food and drinks.  So how do you improve a Pub, which is already so picture perfect?  You hold a Cider and Ale festival is how.  Get your nominated driver sorted (Or Narrowboat pilot if you will) and enjoy nearly 50 different variations – all in the name of good times mind you.

Outdoor Cinema, Mama Mia at Highgate House Fri 26 May

It’s set to be scorchio at the weekend, and we’re heading across to Highgate House on Friday to enjoy Mama Mia and a BBQ – the start of their outdoor cinema season. And we’ve booked a room too!  Wahoo.  It promises to be a lovely evening and the film will start between 9.30pm and 9.45pm with a BBQ being served between 7.30pm – 9.30pm. General tickets: £12.50pp, Under 15’s: £8.50pp. VIP tickets, to include: VIP front of crowd seat on inflatable sofa/armchair with blanket, BBQ ticket (Burger, Chips & Salad) and a glass of Prosecco: £22.50pp

Drag Racing Championship – The Main Event, Santa Pod, Friday 26 to Monday 29 May

FIA European Drag Racing Championship – The Main Event Santa Pod Raceway, the home of European drag racing gears up for one of Europe’s most prominent Drag Racing meetings, ‘The Main Event’. Taking place over Spring Bank Holiday weekend, this hugely popular, televised event is the first round of the prestigious European Drag Racing Championship featuring one of the largest race entries and most thrilling motorsport content anywhere in Europe! Witness the ground-shaking 10,000bhp Top Fuel Dragsters as they reach 300mph in under 5 seconds. Over 200 teams, 17 bike and car race classes will take to the strip to start their 2017 FIA/FIM championship season. With Jet Car, Monster Trucks, Air Displays and Live Action Arena shows, this is the perfect event for the steadfast drag racing fan and families alike!

I’m looking forward to this already.There’s going to be a selection of reworked and handmade stalls selling fashion, accessories. jewellery, collectibles and homeware.  And although there’ll be tea and coffee on offer I’ll be indulging in a spot of Pimms daaaahling.  Admission is free.

Lunaflix invite us to a bargain outdoor cinema experience at Stanwick Lakes. All tickets discounted to £8! This is one of Muddy’s favourite movies, and the setting in the (not quite) wild of Stanwick lakes is perfect. If you haven’t seen this sleeper hit of a movie, it’s your turn to discover a brilliant heart-warming comedy starring Sam Neill.
