The Amy Roberts and Richard Exall Quintet, Castle Theatre, 8pm, Thurs 19 Apr

Featuring two of the most exciting and versatile musicians in today’s jazz scene, Amy Roberts and Richard Exall perform with their Quintet live at Castle Theatre.

Both multi-instrumentalists, Amy and Richard perform on a range of clarinets, saxophones and flute. Both were members of the Chris Barber Big Band, and Richard played with Mike Westbrook and Carla Bley Big Bands. The Quintet pays homage to many jazz musicians, Benny Goodman, Charlie Parker, and Lester Young among them. Together with Dave Newton on piano, Bill Cole on bass and Nick Millard on drums, the group perform melodic arrangements that appeal to listeners of all styles of music.
