FOOD AND DRINK.

Swap Your Apples for Cider, Wednesday 2nd October – Thursday 31st October, Saxby’s Cider. 

On selected dates throughout October, if you bring enough apples to fill a trug you can swap it for a bottle of their 3-point 9 cider. What a great incentive ey?

An evening with Chase Distillery, Friday 4th October, The Woburn Hotel.  

Brand Development Manager from Chase Distillery will be hosting an evening of gin and vodka with canapes and a 3-course meal at the fab Woburn Hotel, a perfect place to enjoy great drink and food with a glass of Pink Grapefruit and Cucumber Collins on arrival.

Bite Street, Friday 4th October – Saturday 5th October, Duston Mill. 

The street food event locals love is back and because it’s October, the bar is being taken over with craft beer and gins. Expect the amazing street food as per, and some vegan wines, fruit ciders, Pimped Prosecco and rum to wash it all down with before dancing to the DJ. A free entry event with indoor and outdoor seating, and well-behaved dogs are more than welcome on a lead.

The Red Barn Supper Club, Saturday 5th October, The Red Barn Supper Club.  

Fancy a delicious three course dinner that has been made with the very finest local produce plus their very own reared meat? You can do just that as you are welcomed with a talk from farmer Guy about the farming system and a Q&A.

Autumn Food Fair, Saturday 5th October, Abington Park Museum.  

The ninth food fair is back at the beautiful Abington Park Museum and this free event will let you discover and indulge in Autumn flavours and delicious treats. If you fancy having a stall to show off your fantastic food, prices start at £35.

The Wines of Alsace, Austria & Germany, Saturday 5th October, Ruby & Claret.  

The fab gang at Ruby & Claret have another relaxing evening of wine sampling, this time serving up wines of Alsace, Austria and Germany with some great tasting canapes to compliment, a lovely way to spend an Autumn evening.

Curry Night, Saturday 5th October, The Ark.  

Enjoy a colourful, Nutritional and flavorful curry on the boat that sits at Midsummer Meadow. A lovely setting perfect for date night or a catch up with the girlies. The night will offer some of the finest and authentic Indian food.

North Beds Food & Drink Festival, Saturday 5th October – Sunday 6th October, Podington Cricket Club.  

A perfect day out for food and drink lovers at Podington Cricket Club as you sample the finest local produce and enjoy craft stalls, kids play area and street food plus live music and of course a bar.

Learn the Art of Champagne, Friday 11th October, Cheyne Walk Club.  

A guided champagne tasting experience led by an expert from Champagne Occasions. Be taken on a guide through the Borel Lucas Champagne experience with 7 champagnes to be tasted and experienced. An exclusive and intimate evening with lovely drink and perfect company.

Oktoberfest, Friday 11th October – Sunday 13th October, Billing Aquadrome.  

Cheers to the weekend at Billing Aquadrome at their fun filled weekend with lots of entertainment and of course lots of drinks to enjoy in the venue spread across the whole weekend. You can book your accommodation if you wish to make a proper weekend of it.

A Spotlight on Rioja, Wednesday 16th October, Ruby & Claret.  

Fancy tasting some of the finest wines from the popular Rioja region, with some nibbles to try to? Of course, you do. Head over to get your tickets and be invited to Ruby & Claret for a perfect evening with great company.

Oktoberfest, Thursday 17th October – Sunday 20th October, Beckets Park.  

Beckets Park will be taken over and transformed into a tradition Oktoberfest with lots to enjoy. From live music to food and German Beer, you can have a few bevs under a heated marquee to keep you toasty this October.

Relax and enjoy an afternoon tea with a twist. It will be National Chocolate Week so what better way to enjoy an afternoon tea than with some choco treats. There will be so many delicious foods and treats to enjoy, all served with a choice of tea or coffee.

G&T’s Gin Club with Warner’s Distillery, Sunday 20th October. Gin and Temples.  

Get all the goss and lowdown from the most recognised distillers in Northamptonshire, Warners. They are hosting their first ever gin club at everyone’s most loved gin bar G&T’s. Expect an informal and relaxed evening of learning about the history, a chance to sample some delicious flavours and you can buy a bottle to take home.

An Enchanting Evening with Bel Canto, Friday 25th October, The Sculpture Abbey.  

Bel Canto will be performing an evening of classical music as you enjoy a delicious fine dining meal with reception drinks and canapes and a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Bel Canto have performed in the West End, Royal Albert Hall and will be making sure you have a lovely evening.

Love Northampton Food Fair, Saturday 26th October, The Guildhall.  

A whole bunch of good stuff will be waiting for you at The Guildhall at the much-loved Love Northampton Food Fair. Expect food and drink to sample and buy, gadgets to fascinate over and demonstrations to inspire you.

Hallo-Wine, Thursday 31st October, Ruby & Claret.  

Instead of trick or treaters knocking on your door, knock back a few glasses of wine as you spend the evening in the cosy Ruby & Claret for an evening of a guided tasting session of red wines and cheeses.

Jerk Thursdays Creepy Caribbean Night, Thursday 31st October, Charles Bradlaugh.  

Box Food are joining Charles Bradlaugh for an evening of film and food for their Creepy Caribbean Night. Kids are welcome and you can order delicious food to eat there or takeaway. There will be great food, great company and the best reggae n ska music.

THE GREAT OUTDOORS. 

Pumpkin Picking, Selected dates throughout October, Farndon Fields.  

Ditch the supermarket pumpkins and grab your own at Farndon Fields. Under 3’s go free and everyone else is only a fiver so spend a day out in the open as you pick your pumpkins to take home and carve out. The event will be held on their working farm so also expect mud, tractors and a whole lot of pumpkins to choose from.

Nordic Walking Taster Sessions, Monday 21st October, Stanwick Lakes.  

Try out a 45-minute session of Nordic Walking around the beautiful Stanwick Lakes as you get fit and toned whilst enjoying company from like-minded individuals. You will definitely leave feeling energised and wanting to come back again. Best of all they are free!

October Half Term, Saturday 26th October – Sunday 2nd November, Stanwick Lakes.  

Your kids will just love the October half term this year at Stanwick Lakes that have an action packed Halloween themed half term with lots to do, outside and in including trails, face painting, crafts and more.

Spooky Scarecrow Lantern Walk, Wednesday 30th October, Stanwick Lakes.  

Stanwick Lakes are hosting a spooktacular event this Halloween where you will create ghastly lanterns and then head out to spot spooky scarecrows and other scary findings in and around Stanwick Lakes. After, learn about creepy creatures and enjoy a free cookie with each hot drink purchased.

THEATRE AND MUSIC. 

The Woman in Black, Monday 30th September – Saturday 5th October, Derngate Theatre.  

What better way to get into the Halloween spirit than watching this thrilling and nail-biting show that has been watched by millions because it’s just that damn good and scary! The story tells the tale of a lawyer that believes a curse has been cast on him and his family by a Woman in Black.

Comedy Club, Thursday 3rd October, The Picturedrome.  

In need of a night of laughs and giggles? Head down to The Picture drome for their monthly comedy club where they will be joined by Laura Lexx, Rob Mulholland, Kesley De Almeida and Ian Smith, all budding comedians that will be sure to leave you with a pain your stomach from all the laughing.

Buble Meets Sinatra: The Showdown!, Friday 4th October, Castle Theatre.  

Join the Castle for the ultimate showdown as two music legends go head to head for a show like no other, who will get your vote? Watch and sing as Michael Buble and Frank Sinatra (obviously not the real two but they are as good as the real deal, promise) take to the stage and belt out their classic hits for a show bursting with talent.

Calendar Girls, The Musical, Tuesday 8th October – Saturday 12th October, Derngate Theatre.  

This fun and fab musical by Gary Barlow and Tim Firth brings a whole lot of musical comedy to stage as it tells the tales of the real-life calendar girls that were ordinary women that achieved something extraordinary. Fancy finding out what it is? Get your tickets to find out as you enjoy this marvellous musical comedy that received five-star reviews in London’s West End.

Style Safari, Thursday 10th October, Rushden Lakes.

YouTuber and fashion influencer Emily Parr (Style Lobster) is heading to the lakes to chat all things fashion, and give us tips and tricks on how to look and feel fab. Get ready for Autumn with this great day with style sessions and style consultations and much more to leave making you ready for fixing up your Autumn wardrobe.  

Open Mic Night, Friday 11th October, Magazine Heaven. 

Enjoy a night of music from the talented Kieran Smith at Magazine Heaven down at Rushden Lakes. Natter over a glass of drink with friends and listen to Mr Smith perform some great songs to keep you entertained.

The Farewell Tour of Britain, Monday 14th October, Lighthouse Theatre.  

Charlie Landsborough, the award-winning singer will be taking to the stage in Kettering as he wraps up touring for 2019 as he focuses on writing and recording new music. The veteran performer whose career began in the early 1970’s is excited to put on an easy listening night of music for you to enjoy.

Spice Girls Tribute, Friday 18th October, Whittlebury Hall. 

Didn’t manage to get tickets to the Spice Girls tour this year? No sweat, we have you covered. Whittlebury Hall are hosting an exciting night dedicated to the best girl band ever, the Spice Girls. Enjoy a fun night of music, dinner and amazing entertainment as you sing and dance along to some of the best hits from the girls. You can choose from a variety of packages to suit all budgets so you don’t miss out on the fun.

Marty McDonald’s Toy Machine, Tuesday 22nd October, Castle Theatre.  

One for the kids, this fun and interactive show will have your kids bursting with excitement. Featuring the voice of Justin Fletcher who you may recognise as Mr Tumble from CBeebies, playing Pongo the Pig who will be joined by other colourful and vibrant farmyard puppet characters.

Northampton Musical Theatre Company are back after the great success of their 2018 production of West Side Story. This year they are performing a true story and a story based on the hit movie Made in Dagemnham, a brilliant musical comedy with a laugh out loud script.

24K Bruno, Friday 1st November, Lighthouse Theatre.  

Fan of Bruno Mars but can’t get hold of tickets to see him live? No bother, this great tribute act is just as good as the real deal and will have you up and on your feet, dancing and singing to all his hits.  Leading man Andres Cruz is traveling all the way from Aruba to showcase his talents on stage for you all to enjoy.

Art in the Pub, Wednesday 2nd October, Red Lion.

The gift and craft fair is back and will be showcasing over 90 stalls selling a variety of bits and pieces including jewellery, glassware, art and cards. Halloweens Spooktacular, Thursday 31st October, Millhouse Tea Rooms & Garden.  

From hotdogs to apple bobbing, cupcake decorating to a pumpkin trail, a family fun day awaits this Halloween at the Millhouse Tea Room with homemade soup and Freshley baked rolls to purchase to keep you warm and toasty. Oh, adults get a free cup of hot mulled wine by the way.

Quirky Races Halloween Run, Friday 1st November, The Obelisk Centre.  

What better way to spend Halloween then getting fit but still having lots of fun in the dark. Back for a third year, Quirky Hallowine Run have 5 spooky 1km laps in the dark, through spooky woods and surprises to keep you on your toes along the way. At the end of each lap you get a well-deserved glass of wine, you will need it to make the night a little less scary.
