Chuck us the lifebelt, Charlie! Here’s the tall tale of two men whose names live on on the comedy canon and their odd and disjointed friendship. What’s real, what’s not? We’re not sure, but it’s bound to be funny and we could all do with a laugh this week.

THEATRE: Invisible String Theatre presents Sonder, Northampton, Wed 18 Mar
A new work by Invisible String Theatre Company as part of the University of Northampton Drama Programme’s annual Adaptation Festival. The residents of Greystead Flats receive some news that jolts out of their monotonous lives.

Fancy the opportunity to see behind the scenes of Towcester’s heritage brew plant? Learn the history of this Grade II listed Mill, and find out about the different malt and hops used in brewing, followed up with a beer and tapas board. Bottoms up.

This annual village event marks the spring equinox with a glorious celebration of daffs, along with a dog show, craft and food stalls including locally produced pressed rapeseed oil and fruity gins, not to mention tons of varieties of daffodils to admire and bring home to spruce up your flower beds.

THEATRE: Time Machine, London Library, London, until 5 April
Local favourites Creation Theatre are heading to the Big Smoke! In this moving (literally) production, small audiences will be led through the vast London Library as Time Machine, which explores themes of neuroscience, big data, genomics and global connectedness, unfolds. Knowing Creation, it’s bound to be brilliant.
