New year, new gym! 9 brill Northants fitness spots.

Determined to get fit and ready for 2020. We've rounded up the very best health and fitness spots to suit all budgets and goals.

Ironstone Wellbeing, Kettering.

If you want to focus on your mind and body this year, Ironstone Wellbeing Centre is up there with the best of the county. It’s full of brilliant classes for you look after your mental and physical wellbeing, including Pilates, Tai Chi, Mindfulness and Meditation. There are other more high octane classes to let out some steam, including HITT cardio, FitSteps and Zumba, so there’s something for everyone. Make a day out of it and enjoy something from their on-site cafe, there’s a lovely and welcoming atmosphere to make you feel properly relaxed with like-minded people. There are also great showers and changing facilities and there’s onsite parking so you can stay focused on achieving your goal. Northants is lucky to have it!

Homefield Grange Retreat, Northamptonshire. 

A celebrity hot spot, this retreat is a luxury escape that Carol Vorderman, Amanda Holden and Spice Girls very own Melanie C have visited! As a retreat rather than a gym, retreat, it’s got classes like Classes include nordic walking, guided meditation and yoga. Once you’ve worked out, you can kick back and relax in their wellness spa made from natural stone, wood and slate; it gives it that really luxe atmosphere to make you feel special.

Pink Lady Studios, Northampton.

Here come the girls! & they are out in force over at Pink Lady Studios, located in Kingsthorpe, Northampton. This ladies only gym is a great first time gym for those who find a busy, hectic gym a little overwhelming. It still has a great buzz but offers support to guide you to where you want to be, in a safe and private environment. It’s got a real community feel so it’s easy to make friends and meet like minded women who may have the same goals as you. They have a selection of cardiovascular machines, free weights and resistance training bikes, plus lots more to keep you in top form.

Overstone Park Gym, Northampton.

From as little as £37 pm, you can get access to great facilities, a fitness assessment and induction tailored to your fitness wants and needs. The gym is a great space full of the latest fitness tech. You’ll get the chance to be taken around by one of their professional fitness advisors who will show you all the machines, equipment and leisure facilities. They also offer personal training sessions if you want some extra help and support. Oh, and if you join in January 2020 you get three 30 min personal training sessions for free, and you get 12 months free leisure membership when you become a golf member during January 2020 too.

Jo Fitness, Northampton.

If you want that extra support and guidance to help you get where you want to be, Jo Fitness is a great option. Mother of two Jo, is passionate and dedicated to helping everyone wanting to transform their mind and body. She has a certificate in Pre and Postpartum Coaching so she’s full of knowledge to help you during pregnancy. Jo offers private PT sessions and every new client will receive a free assessment and goal setting session to get things moving.

Virgin Active, Northampton.

With three locations around Northampton, Virgin Active is a premium gym with great facilities. Their Collingtree gym has an outdoor pool great for the summer time where you can kick back on a lounger after a work out. With health and beauty salons, spaces for family and kids, clean and spacious studios and a cycle studio, everything is under one roof. Their Riverside Park spa is a local favourite with a hydrotherapy pool, steam room and sauna. You really can spend a whole day there, we know because we have instead of working out, oops.

Diana’s Health & Fitness, Wellingborough.

Diana’s Health & Fitness is more than just a gym, it’s a second family with really friendly staff who know most of their customers’ first names. There is over 200 pieces of equipment and over 130 classes a week so lots to do and lots to try. There’s a 20 metre pool perfect for a few laps, squash courts, tanning room and much more to make all of your leisure time fun and enjoyable. The gym is perfect for anyone wanting full guidance and support to achieving their goals and has lots of great success stories on their website. Check them out and see if you could be part of the Diana family; at the moment there’s no joining fee.

Sally Mills Personal Training, Northampton.

Sally is a great choice for those wanting 1-2-1 classes. She also offers online training for that extra bit of help and guidance. Focusing on your needs, Sally is a specialist in nutrition, strength and weight loss. On offer is a range of services including body sculpt, circuits, and other packages to suit all budgets. You can also get a personal food diary analysis to keep on track what you eat a lot of or not enough of. Oh, and Sally’s lovely too!

Whittlebury Park Leisure Centre, Northamptonshire.

Whittlebury is more than just a popular spa, it has a gym onsite and offers essential health and wellness facilities that encourage you to maintain fitness as part of an enjoyable experience. There’s a great selection of classes for all levels, so whether you’re a beginner, expert or just want to try out some new classes such as Body Tone or Legs, Bums and Tums, they have it all here ready for you. Memberships start from £49.
